James Move to Miami Has Cleveland Fans Unhappy

The city seems to have lost it’s swagger. To that I say it wasn’t yours in the first place. If Wade had left South Beach for Chicago, Miami would have still been Miami.

As I understand it, Cleveland fans have a rivalry type thing going on with the Windy City. From an outside looking in perspective, Chicago has the big edge right now.

Their advantage has nothing to do with LeBron James’ exodus to the Miami Heat. Chicago lost out in the Summer of LeBron Sweepstakes just like Cleveland. Yeah, Boozer really thought Wade would be playing for the Heat next season.

Chicago’s advantage comes from their approach to the whole affair. The Bulls made their moves, made their pitch and got out of the way. When LeBron wanted special treatment for his boys, Reinsdorf reportedly reneged on that idea.

Gilbert came with a Family Guy parody video to make his pitch.

Meanwhile, LeBron James’ boys lived off of Cavs owner Dan Gilbert like a dead beat dad’s latest “My Baby Mama”. In a nut shell, he let himself be pimped by a small group of twenty-somethings.

Gilbert responded quickly, with an emotional email accusing James of many things, one of which was quitting during the playoffs. He threatened to reveal many things that people do not know.

The number buzzing around the sports world says the Cavs franchise value dropped about $140 million. That’s a lot of sour grapes.

Yeah Cleveland, your owner sounded real good claiming the King turned his back on the city. Fact of the matter is, Gilbert made tons of money while James played for Cleveland. A great deal more money than he would have, had James never played for him.

Did ticket prices ever drop during that time?

Danny Ferry quit before James decided to leave. Did I miss the public email claiming Ferry quit, and accusing him of being egotistical?

I did hear that Alonzo Mourning came with Pat Riley and his NBA Championship Rings. Riley talked about the bling. Mourning talked about how the Heat franchise stood by him during his kidney transplant.

I’m sure James liked the fact that Mourning now holds a position within the Heat organization.

Did I mention that Gilbert fired former head coach Mike Brown? Yet and still, Delante West still remains on the roster.

By comparison, Reinsdorf signed Carlos Boozer and Kyle Krover, and then made a move to get J.J. Redick. He then stated his team right now is better than the Heat. We’ve heard very little from Chicago fans by the way.

Cleveland fans have been extremely vocal. Some even creating a tasteless t-shirt referring to the rumored relationship between Delante West and LeBron’s mother.

Another side note. If Gilbert wanted to keep LeBron, why is West still on the Cavs roster? I know I already mentioned that, but it needs to be asked.

If Cavs fans hate LeBron James, they hate themselves. What person wouldn’t go to another company, for more money, less taxes and the chance to be considered one of the best at his job, all before you reach the age of 30?

No one in Cleveland would turn that down. But you expect James to do so? Worse yet, you expect him to do so, for people he’s never met.

Yes Cleveland fans, be mad you lost James. But stop hating on James. He handled business like a business man.

Gilbert came into negotiations treating a group of young men like boys. Gilbert handled business like an entitled condescending spoiled 13 year old girl. In the end, he got treated like he acted.

So Cleveland, STFU about LeBron.
