The Renegade Report – 2nd Quarter Season Recap

In part 2 of our 4 part season recap, Herc & Nolebra Kai recap the losses to Clemson and Wake Forest.  They also discuss the victory over Duke.  With EJ Manuel’s injury against Oklahoma, redshirt freshman Clint Trickett was forced to start the next 2 games.  It was widely assumed that the defense would be able to carry the team to victory.  Untimely penalties and lack of discipline led to Mark Stoops’ unit giving up 35 points in back to back games; both Seminoles losses.

In Part 1 of our season recap, we talked about how in hindsight some trends of the season were evident early in the season.  In the 2nd quarter of the season, we learned that it wasn’t just Landry Jones, Ryan Broyles and Kenny Stills making great plays at the end of the Oklahoma game; the 2011 FSU defense struggled to come up with stops or turnovers at the most critical time of the game.
