Calvin Johnson gets PAID!

Detroit Lions give him a contract extension of 7 years $132 million with $60 million guaranteed.  Overpaid, maybe.  Overrated, absolutely not.

Dwight Howard changes his mind…… again

2 days ago he said that he wants to finish the season with the Magic, but not surrender his ability to opt out of his contract after the season.  Last night, he said that he won’t opt out of his contract and will not only wants to finish the season with the Magic, he wants to play for Orlando next season also.

The NBA trade deadline is today at 3pm.  Thankfully this soap opera will be over….. at least for the time being.

Mike D’Antoni resigns as Knicks head coach

He was a “dead man walking” because it was clear that the Knicks weren’t going to renew his contract next season.  It’s been reported that D’Antoni wanted to trade Carmelo Anthony for Deron Williams but the Knicks’ brass refused to make that deal.

Former Utah coach Jerry Sloan has expressed interest in the job.
